On February 21, 2025, on the occasion of Great Martyrs and International Mother Language Day, a discussion meeting and prayer mahfil was held at the temporary head office of the party at 93 Karwan Bazar at the initiative of Bangladesh Desh Janata Party (BDJP). The meeting was presided over by the party president, Mr. Md. Noor Hakim. The party's chief representative, Advocate Iqbal Kabir, was present as the chief guest in the meeting, and among others, the party's vice president and Dhaka North City organizer, Md. Faruk Hossain, office secretary Md. Aminur Rahman, student affairs secretary Sheikh Nahid, Mahfil ul Manzil (Safal), Maruf Ahmed (Adit) and Wahedul Sheikh were present. At the meeting, the president, Mr. Noor Hakim, said that the language movement and independence are connected by the same thread. He said that the glory of the Bengali language is a shining example for all the language speakers of the world. I do not know of any other nation in the world that has given its life for its mother tongue! Chief guest Advocate Iqbal Kabir said that through the spirit of the 1952 language movement, we later achieved independence and a sovereign state; yet even after 54 years of independence, our mother tongue has not been implemented at all levels. Desh Janata Party is calling on the Bangladesh government to immediately implement Bengali as the mother tongue at all levels. We pray for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs of the 1952 language movement, the 1971 liberation war, the 1990 mass uprising, the 1996 mass uprising and the 2024 student-public uprising. Then the president declared the meeting over and prayers were offered for the martyrs.
